Eye Wash

For contact lens wearers eye wash can be used to keep your lenses moist if you need to remove them and can also be used to rinse your lenses if there is lint or debris stuck to them.
Eye wash is usually saline. Saline is a solution of mild salt water. The salt content is similar to that of the human body and it is usually used to clean contact lenses or rinse eyes. Store a bottle of eye wash in your first aid kit, in your desk at work, and just about anyplace else you can think of. In an emergency situation saline can be used to rinse out a cut or scrape. It will not disinfect the cut like an antiseptic or germicidal solution will, but it will remove debris and clean the surface of the injury. Keep an eye on the expiration date of your eye wash and replace it if it is passed its usefulness. Also make sure to re-stock the eye wash in your eye wash station at work if it is used up or expired. You may want to keep an few extra bottles of eye wash on hand so you can re-stock your eye wash station if necessary or you can use it to rinse and care for your eyes outside of an emergency situation.
