If your athletic activities are pool side or at the beach you should use a sunscreen that withstands exposure to water or reapply often to prevent overexposure to the sun. Insect repellent or insect sting relief pads can also save the day when participating in outdoor sporting events. When bringing the first aid kit for spots to a team event make sure you have plenty of items since more than one athlete could become injured.
Make sure to routinely inspect your sports training first aid kit. You should check that items are well stocked and that medications are not past their expiration date. An under-stocked or out of date kit loses its usefulness and can prevent you from providing the required care.
