Individually packaged doses of medication can conveniently be tucked into your first aid kit, the glove compartment of your car, you purse or wallet and any other place where it may be handy to keep medication at the ready. Taking pills out of a bottle and storing them in a pocket or bag can be dangerous since you may lose track of them or forget what they are. The medication can also be exposed to germs and bacteria, or they could become wet which makes them useless. Also inspect the packaging for all medications in your first aid kit. Make sure the pouches are sealed. Throw away any pouches that are punctured, torn, or otherwise damaged. Make sure nothing in your kit leaked and possibly damaged the medication packets. Also check the expiration dates. Replace anything that is damaged or expired for the safety of yourself and your loved ones.
